Twitter / Maki

Twitter / Maki: "Removing all the email notifications I get from social media websites, they add far too much clutter to the inbox."

Nice! I have a whole account slaved to the social. I clear the relevant folder after logging in and seeing what the in-system experience is like. Usually it's just a poor version of a mail client ...

The Facebook Blog | Mini-Feed

The Facebook Blog | Facebook: "The option to import stories from other sites can be found via the small 'Import' link at the top of your Mini-Feed. Only a few sites—Flickr, Yelp, Picasa, and del.icio.us—are available for importing at the moment,"

Yay! More noise in the update feed. Probably even more duplicate notifications from various forwards and feeds and lifestreams. Joy. Doubt if they can make the mini-feed useful, tuning updates is a great idea, but, it doesn't seem to work that well.

BlogIt, now with AutoTwat! Ask me how!

ReadWriteWeb hopes that it will tear down that wall ... "BlogIt may be just a beachhead landed in the hostile territory not of Facebook, but of online identity chaos in general."

Facebook Fatigue

Facebook: "the latest flurry of trendy and “me too” 2.0 applications. Surprisingly it is also the catalyst for Social Network Overload (SNO) or Fatigue (SNF) amongst those within the echo chamber, with some going so far as declaring Facebook Bankruptcy."

SNO is certainly catchier, as in SNOooo ...

Surprised that someone hasn't run with "Facecrime".
